01

Confirm the report belongs to the current offer

Match VIN, original market, generation, body, engine, transmission, examination date and scope through the inspection checklist. Keep observed findings, qualified interpretation and seller explanation separate. Another car’s scan or a shorter report is not the same acceptance boundary. Retain inaccessible areas and missing conditions without treating them as either confirmed failure or positive evidence. If movement, intervention or substitution occurred after examination, identify which conclusions require refreshing. The initial price discussion should describe what the current report supports, not use its length or a good-condition summary as an independent certificate for the whole vehicle.

02

Sort findings by what the buyer actually needs next

Separate accepted cosmetics, routine preparation, understood correction and consequential questions requiring diagnosis through the common-risk guide. Disclosed gearbox work calls for the S tronic intervention decision, not an automatic standard deduction. Do not assign an online part amount to an unexplained symptom or call every warning a minor reset. A finding should identify whether it can be quoted, knowingly accepted or still prevents commitment. A larger cash reduction cannot supply a missing explanation of a consequential concern. The negotiating file should make those categories visible before revised price language encourages either party to treat them as technically settled.

03

Quote complete applicable correction

Ask accountable providers about operations, fitment, work location, exclusions and suitable completion evidence. Use VIN-specific parts matching rather than an attractive component price from another generation. Keep diagnosis, labour, relevant materials and affected verification in the scope where applicable. State whether work happens before export or at destination and who can actually provide it. Supply uncertainty should remain explicit. A retail part price is not completed repair cost. The quoted operation should describe a supported consequence of the findings, not imply every possible related issue disappears because the seller has named a familiar replacement item and a convenient small amount.

04

Compare included work with a cash adjustment

Use the price-guide boundary to compare accountable preparation, revised price or accepted disclosure. Count each operation once. Where the seller includes work, agree the provider and evidence instead of promising the car will be perfect. Where the owner undertakes correction after arrival, retain actual availability, interruption and support conditions. Neither route is universally better. A lower price with consequential uncertain condition can remain unsuitable, while seller-completed work needs appropriate confirmation before becoming an accepted benefit. The revised amount and technical conditions should remain distinct but connected, so a commercial settlement cannot silently become a whole-vehicle condition assurance.

05

Two different findings need two different responses

Consider an examination recording an accepted cosmetic mark and an unexplained operating symptom. The cosmetic item may be an acknowledged preference or an understood correction; the symptom needs appropriate interpretation before its consequence can be valued. Do not combine both into one blanket deduction and call the car settled. If accountable diagnosis later defines an operation, compare a cash adjustment with included work and suitable confirmation. This preserves room for a supported commercial agreement without allowing a familiar cosmetic repair price to conceal a separate consequential question that remains unresolved in the actual vehicle.

06

Compare another examined proposal on the same basis

Select an alternative meeting the same household, powertrain and receiving requirements with suitable current-condition scope. A listing with fewer disclosures is not automatically clean. The lease-return decision can help when duty changes the prepared comparison. Keep equipment, included objects, history, work, support, currency and validity visible on both offers. Negotiation does not authorise an unverified payment account change; confirm instructions independently through an established route. A historic promotion or a different market configuration selected only for a lower starting figure is not a useful ready-to-use alternative against the actual inspected car and its defined remaining conditions.

07

Write the accepted change and affected confirmation

Record the selected VIN, relevant findings, defined operations, revised commercial boundary and retained limits in the purchase schedule. Attach reports and quotations so agreed scope cannot become generic good-condition language later. Suitable affected confirmation should follow consequential work before the next agreed transaction step. A substituted Q3 needs renewed acceptance rather than inheriting the first negotiated deduction. Appropriate remedies belong in suitably reviewed transaction documents where required. The agreement can resolve an understood commercial consequence, but it cannot independently establish installation quality, completed diagnosis, remaining component life, receiving approval or every future outcome merely because both parties accepted a lower amount.
